On Friday, March 8th from 7 to 9:30 pm, BARRE Kamloops is excited to be co-sponsoring empowerHER, an evening of movement, wellness and inspiration in celebration of International Women's Day 2019 at The Rex presented by United Way.
Join us as we mindfully move, sweat and be inspired with a Limbus Movement class and keynote from Co-Founder, Dr. Darby Ewashina, be nourished with smoothies and snacks from ahhYaY Wellness Café, renew and restore with an exclusive pop-up store and aromatherapy experience from Saje Wellness, mingle to the ambient beats of Common Sound and get creative with a Far & Wide pop-up shop featuring lady-made items.
“[This event] is really focusing on preventative mental health and what we can do as a community to come together and start to process some of the heavy stuff that we all suppress or shove down throughout the days, weeks, and even years,” says Dr. Ewashina.
All proceeds raised will be donated to United Way's empowerHER initiative to help give local vulnerable women the tools they need to build resilience and thrive.
“empowerHER is incredibly important to the health of not only the women directly supported, but the health of the entire family and our community as a whole. Women that are empowered and supported through programs addressing financial stability and preventative mental health are key to ensuring a positive path forward for families. We can change the cycle in years to come with strategic and consistent wrap around supports, caring and empathy,” says Danalee Baker, Executive Director of United Way Thompson Nicola Cariboo.
Tickets to the are $50 per person, or $150 for a group of four and can be purchased at unitedwaytnc.ca/event.

What to Expect
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Mindfully move through a Limbus class while being restored with an aromatherapy experience from Saje Wellness.
What is Limbus? You will sweat. You will be sore the next day. You may cry. You may feel joy. Whatever happens, it’s ok...we’ve got you. The workout is fully modifiable for every body, and can be done barefoot, in grip socks or in runners. Wear something you are comfortable moving in, bring a yoga mat and also a bottle of water.

Be nourished and learn more about fueling your mental health with Natalie Peace-Young of Ahh Yay Wellness Café.
